Christmas Bliss

After reading Blue Christmas awhile back, it was fun to read about the double duo of "Weezie" and "Bebe" again - two great friends that have each others backs. Weezie is about to be married, on Christmas Day to boot, when she discovers her fiancee, a chef, may be canoodling with his boss in NYC. Even though the wedding is only days away and her dress isn't finished, Weezie flies off to the city to find out the truth. On the other hand, Bebe, to her horror, discovers that the divorce to her first husband was never filed. Determined to track down her ex and force him to sign the papers, Bebe, pregnant and ready to pop, hides the fact from her beloved baby daddy. Our favorite cast of characters are back and you can't help but giggle at these two fun-loving, trouble-finding, crazy gals and their adventures. A light and fluffy read!!

There's No Place Like Here

There's No Place Like HereThere's No Place Like Here by Cecelia Ahern

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another novel with author Cecelia Ahern's different, humorous take on things. The story centers on
Sandy Shortt, a woman who is obsessed with finding the missing - a sock, a shoe, articles of clothing, and people. Her obsession becomes so great that her family, and man she falls in love with, are pushed away. When Sandy herself becomes missing - where is she and who will bother to look for her? Can Sandy find her way home? Although the story bounces around a bit - it's not hard to keep track.

I have to admit - it does drive me crazy when my washer or dryer eats a sock and its mate is left to carry on alone.

Maybe This Time

Maybe This TimeMaybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Maybe This Time was my first read of Jennifer Crusie. I wasn't sure what to expect even after reading the book jacket. Laugh-out-loud humor mixed with romance and paranormal activities kept me turning the pages. Crusie has a gift for writing about off the wall, crazy, zany characters and there are quite a few - Lively, outspoken Andromeda "Andie" Miller is ready to cut the ties with her staid, ex-husband North and prepares to do battle. North, in the showdown, bribes her with a large sum of money if she can "fix" the two, young and very odd children of his late cousin, who live in Southern Ohio in a creepy, ancient three story stone house, complete with a moat. Oddly enough Andie agrees and all kind of wild paranormal events happen when she show up at "The House of Archer."
